Abstract :
With the rapid development of the information technology and knowledge economy, the old fashioned, traditional service industry manage to make a significant progress to grow into a brand new formation. Now the information amount on the Internet expands in a incredible way everyday, which makes how to keep and manage those information of a mass storage system more and more important for us. So in this paper, we will discuss a new Unit-based Distributed Storage (UDS) Model, which is capable of managing a great number of data stored in a certain amount of normal low-cost computers who serve as peer nodes of a whole structured P2P distributed system efficiently by using a virtual storage component called ¿Unit¿.
