Abstract :
The laser beam impacts on ceramic substrate should probably modify its dielectric properties. In order to increase the knowledge of these laser impacts effect, experiments are described and analyzed in this communication. These experiments are focused on the modification of both electrical conduction and injection process induced by the laser treatments. Both electrical and optical measurements are performed to provide crucial information about this relationship. Electrical measurements consist in classical electrical conduction current measurements. Steady state conduction currents are recorded and the observed differences (with or without laser treatment) are analysed. Optical measurements consist in measuring the electroluminescence (EL) activity occurring at the interface between the ceramic and its metallization. In a specific electrical field range, this electroluminescence activity provides some important data about the injection process by measuring the recombination induced radiative activity close to the interface (level, threshold, evolution vs electric field...).
