Abstract
In the electric automation one of the largest problems when projecting SCADA systems is the lack of integration and interoperability among products of different manufacturers. The most recently solution for this type of problems is the application of object-oriented paradigm to model the field information. This is the case of the UCA (Utility Communication Architecture) architecture that standardizes a model of the substation field information, GOMSFE (Generic Object Model for Substation and Feeder Equipment´s), as well as the communication models contained in the document CASM (Common Application Service Models). Therefore, the proposal of the present work is the application of the UCA architecture philosophy to project SCADA systems in the hydroelectric power plant automation.
