  • Abstract
    This paper presents a new fast and accurate algorithm for frequency estimation, which uses together the amplitude and phase information of the DFT (Discrete Fourier Transform) results. It is an unbiased estimator. The simulation proves that the performance of proposed algorithm is close to MCRB (Modified Cramer-Rao Bound), and its characterization of SNR (Signal Noise Ratio) threshold is similar to the maximum likelihood algorithm. At the same time, it is a low complexity algorithm, which can be implemented by hardware easily. Therefore, the proposed algorithm is suitable for receiver in satellite communication systems, navigation systems and etc..
