Abstract
The complex permittivity of a biological medium used for stem cell culture has been measured from 1 GHz to 20 GHz for the first time. Results for the medium are presented here in comparison with those of distilled water. The determination of spectra for the real and imaginary parts of complex dielectric permittivity of the biological medium will help us further to understand the mechanism of absorption of stem cells to the microwave exposure and eliminate unwanted effects such as thermal effects that may mislead the interpretation of results.
