Abstract :
Development work conducted on closed and recycled diesel systems is reviewed, the technical problems encountered are discussed in the light of operational requirements, and the nontechnical policy issues that have at times restricted development are examined. The future operational requirements that submersible power systems may have to fulfil are discussed, and an appraisal is given of how well the AIP diesel is likely to meet these
