  • Abstract
    Based on the analysis of demands of Internet Protocol Television(IPTV)access network and advantages of WiMAX technology, a system model for IPTV over WiMAX is proposed and the system procedure is analysed in detail. Considering the heavy traffic in downlink direction of IPTV service, this paper proposes a Downlink Real-time Scheduling(DLRTS) algorithm which aims at decreasing the delay of real-time traffic, thus meeting requirements of IPTV´s Quality of Service(QoS). Simulation result shows that, compared to Round-Robin scheduling algorithm, DLRTS improves the performance both in delay and throughput, thus can be competent for IPTV service.
