Abstract
Hirschman\´s 1970 framework of exit, voice, and loyalty provides the foundation for adding "voice" to the IT turnover picture. For dissatisfied employees, voice is an alternative to exit; by definition, voice is any attempt to change rather than escape from a dissatisfying situation. The management literature on voice is applied to develop a model of exit and voice for dissatisfied IT professionals. This model augments prior IT research models by bringing voice and its antecedents into the picture. Directions for future research and implications for practice are provided.
