Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to improve the performance of QCL through developing block diagram simulation and mathematical models. In order to analyze the performance of QCL device the mathematical model is formulated based on device parameters. These parameters play the central role in specifying the optical characteristics of the considered laser source. The mathematical model is derived to express explicitly the performance of the device, while a block diagram model is implemented which implicitly describe the same device. It was found that there is a full agreement between mathematical model and the results obtained with block diagram model and experimental results. The comparisons demonstrate the strength of both mathematical and block diagram models.
