Abstract :
This paper presents an analytical technique for determining the contribution of supply noise to the overall phase noise of oscillators. Using this analytical approach, the effects of supply noise amplitude and frequency on phase noise can be determined. The technique is verified with measured results for two 1.6 GHz integrated LC oscillator fabricated in a 0.35 μm CMOS processes. Good agreement is obtained between the analysis results and experimental data
