Abstract :
As the network video market grows rapidly, the network video quality assessment concerns a lot. This paper analyzes the reasons that influence the transmission quality of network video. A real-time packet analysis system is designed to monitor packet loss. Then a set of experiments based on our system are conducted to show the effect of packet loss on video quality. Furthermore, the effect on the video quality is analyzed under the specific condition, which refers to certain packet loss rate, packet loss with different frame type and packet loss containing frame type tag. Learning of the difference of impairment level among various packet loss types, it could help to decide which packet to lose in the intermediate node in order to relieve network congestion.
