Abstract :
Fog is a type of weather phenomenon with great damage which has serious influence on human activities. Satellite remote sensing technology has unique advantages in fog monitoring. According to the spectral characteristics of different objects, the daytime fog experiment has been made in east China on April 5, 2010, with VIRR Data of FY-3A Satellite and multichannel threshold method in this paper. The result shows that this method has good effect on fog monitoring, and the probability of detection reaches 73.9%. FY-3A data can become a new data source and be suitable for business promotion of fog detection.
