In order to make clear of the dust storm characteristics in southeast the Tengger Desert, the data from 16 weather stations for more than 40 years is used for analysis. The result shows that the secular variation of the dust storms decreased since 1982 or 1983. The study area contribute more to “dust transportation path” than to “dust source”. And also, the largest number of days with dust storm does not occur at the station which is nearest to Desert, but at rain-feed farm land or semi-fixed desert area, which is quite unexpected and seems unreasonable. Therefore, further studies are required to clarify the contribution of Chinese deserts and their nearby area to dust origin.
