Abstract :
Acquisition of a weak GPS signal faces such challenges as possible bit reversal every 0.02 s and tolerable frequency error inversely proportional to integration interval. Coherent methods can solve these problems efficiently, but these methods need enormous computation and have to work in high-end receivers. This paper presents a new method in software receiver with self-multiplication to avoid all of these problems and simplify the acquisition process dramatically. Besides, the method is able to handle large frequency offset and implement easily.
