Abstract :
In this paper, a penta-bands planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) with a parasitic element is designed. The antenna could not only operate on the conventional GSM quad-band which covers both 824MHz to 960MHz and 1710MHz to 1990MHz, but also could be tuned on WCDMA band1 or the BT/WiFi(802.11b/g) band or higher according to the actual situation. The antenna has a simple structure in the design. Miniaturization is also achieved. The size is 42mm×12mm ×6mm. The antenna can be used as an Internal Antenna of the cell phone.
