Abstract
The trend of research oriented to indoor mobile communications requires the definition of an effective technique to operate in this challenging environment, since the mobile radio channel, both in indoor and outdoor applications, is affected by so-called multipath fading. In the framework of indoor mobile communications, this paper deals with the radio-channel estimation of a DS-CDMA system in operation. We analyse the performance of two already known techniques and point out some effects made evident by the use of measured channel delay profiles. We then propose a way to overcome the estimation time delay using an AR modelling of the channel tap weights and a subsequent linear prediction of their values
