Abstract
The fault of wind turbine blades in practical use is analyzed in this article and the sensing theory of optical fiber Brillouin sensor is introduced. A temperature and strain online monitoring system based on Brillouin optical time domain analysis (BOTDA) is proposed as well. By applying this technique, the crack as small as 1.5 cm can be detected by BOTDA sensor, which meets the fault localization requirement of structural health monitoring of wind turbine blades. Finally, the function and application prospect of this system are represented.
