Abstract :
Prototype waveform interpolation (PWI) coding can produce high quality speech at low bit rates. Most PWI coders that have been published carry out the coding in the residual domain, as opposed to the speech domain. This paper discusses a speech domain approach which aims to reduce quantisation complexity and improve speech quality
