Abstract :
We introduce a novel optical modulator that provides broadband quaternary phase-shift keying modulation of microwave subcarriers directly in the photonic domain. The feasibility of this design is experimentally demonstrated transmitting a 15-GHz subcarrier conveying 2.5-Gbit/s quaternary phase-shift keying modulation.
