Abstract
This paper presents a design and implementation of wind turbine imitation system using DC Motor. The idea is to imitate speeds from the DC Motor that could be provided by the practical wind turbines. An H-bridge PWM VSC is used in the system to control the DC Motor which is directly coupled to the Permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG). The control algorithm is realized in the DSP (TMS320F2812). The system is then employed to imitate the wind turbine with various wind speeds in the direct drive PMSG wind power generation model. Experimentation results and simulation verify the effectiveness of the system which provides a platform to be used in studying the control method of direct drive PMSG with various speed changes.
