Abstract :
Networked power supplies are the most reliable means of providing power to distribution customers. The tied network provides a continuous, uninterrupted supply to the customer even during system fault conditions. Distribution supplies have been networked at both the primary delivery voltage or the secondary delivery voltage. The design, operating concerns, costs and maintenance of such systems can be a challenge. Many utilities are choosing to convert their network supply to a radial feed design. Others are moving forward to provide the superior reliability of a networked supply with developing new technology.
