Abstract :
With the open pit mine being continuous explored and slope becoming steep, slope stability problem becomes more important. Thus keeping slope stable has very significant meaning. Then Tangshan Malanzhuang Iron Mine of Capital Iron and Steel Co. is taken for an example to assess slope stability. By application of finite difference code Fast Lagrangian Analysis of Continua and its arithmetic process, the analysis on rock slope stability of the mine was carried on, which is based on the calculation of stress and strain, shear strain contours, element displacement vectors, plastic state of slope, hydrolytic weakening properties and then the safety factors were carried out. The quantitative analysis of final slope stability for open pit mine was concluded.
