Abstract :
Two-dimensional electromagnetic waves are discussed by means of the location of zeros of far. zone patterns on the complex plane Examples are given for the case when the scatterers are made of polygonal cylindem It is shown that contributions of scattering from the edges of the obstacles are well described by the infhite sequences of zeros that lead to idnity on the complex plane. The locations and directions of infinite sequences are closely related to the edge shapes in real space, so that the edge effects in high frequency scheme can he studied from geometrical considerations of these zeros.
