Abstract
In order to identify and assessment the disaster areas and changes of large-scale highway network rapidly after earthquake, a robust and high-efficiency damage assessment method and architecture for large-scale disaster of highway network through the combination of GIS and RS is proposed and experimented in this paper. According to the condition of the collection of satellite images, two solutions are proposed. A lot of experiments are implemented to demonstrate the effects of the proposed method, and we can conclude from the experiments results that more than 70 percent of highway disasters are found at those areas whose slope angle is greater than or equal to 37 degrees.
