Abstract :
Internetworking between videophones in PSTN (public switched telephone networks) and ISDN (integrated services digital networks) using terminal adapters without changing the network or existing H.320 terminals is discussed. Video coding techniques compatible to H.261 are presented with simulation results. Video coding for PSTN videotelephony with considerations on interworking and network aspects is reported
