Abstract
A standard test environment consisting of a test executive, an interface for instrumentation, and a bus handler is presented. The test executive provides a standard user interface, a hierarchical test menu structure that offers a high level of user control, and a flexible data recording system for both formatted and unformatted data. The instrument interfaces provide programming and user interfaces to the test instrumentation through the use of Ada packages called instrument support packages (ISPs). The bus handler provides a programming interface to the host bus driver, manages communication between the ISPs and the test instrumentation, and provides a user interface to monitor host bus traffic. Ongoing development efforts are briefly noted
