Abstract :
Two-dimensional (2-D) adaptive infinite impulse response (IIR) filters based on the least-mean-square (LMS) algorithm are presented. The algorithm for updating the coefficients of the 2-D adaptive direct form quarter-plane filters is derived. Computer simulations, which demonstrate its capability in enhancing noisy images, are included
