Abstract :
Radio-controlled (RC) cars, boats, planes, and helicopters have been around for decades, but the emergence of consumer-friendly quadrotor copters has changed the game completely. This year, for the first time ever, the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) showcased a full range of related products in the Unmanned Systems Marketplace. The CES spotlight came at a pivotal time for the small unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) market, as headlines touted drones as the gadget of the year and aviation authorities wrestled with regulatory questions.
