Abstract
We propose an easy design tool of game event for rapid game Development, by which game designers can describe game events and effects without detailed programming skill. In the game design phase, programming game events is time consuming, nonproductive, and tedious burden to programmers. Moreover, it is very difficult task for non-programmers. In this paper, we propose EDGE(Easy Design tool of Game Event for rapid game Development) based game design process which clearly guarantees independence of game planning/implementation phase. In game design process, game designer describe characters and events/effects without programming details. After previewing by EDGE which generated game source codes, we can proceed to the game implementation phase. We designed EDGE on OpenGL platform, applied EDGE to the development of game contents, and the experimental results show that EDGE increase the productivity of game development and maintenance.
