Abstract :
This paper introduces the design and implementation of one-terminal fault location system for transmission lines based on impedance-traveling wave assembled algorithm. It combines the measurements of impedance method and traveling wave method in one-terminal fault location system for transmission lines. The algorithm named impedance-traveling wave assembled algorithm is described at first. The assembled algorithm has complementarities of both methods, because measurement impedance method guarantees reliability and traveling wave method improves accuracy. Then it is how to implement the algorithm in power system, including hardware and software of fault location system, introducing main structure, fault location device, programming flows in industrial computer and high-speed card, data process, and so on.
