Abstract :
The paper presents examples of solutions of computation dissipation of luminous flux distribution in interiors, taking into account multiple reflections, carried out at a parallel machine of cluster type. The structure of homogeneous and heterogeneous clusters was discussed. For communication between the processes the PVM library was used, operating under the Linux operational system. Advantages and drawbacks of the programs operating at the computers connected into the cluster are discussed. Acceleration and performance of the concurrent program was analyzed. In designing the algorithm attention was paid to minimization of the volume of interchanged messages. In the case of the heterogeneous machine three algorithms were compared with each other. Examples of the calculation results are presented, and operation modes of the homogeneous and heterogeneous clusters are compared.
