Abstract :
A multiplier-free realization of infinite impulse response (IIR) filters based on periodically time-varying structure is proposed. The coefficients of the realization are periodically time-varying taking values from the set {0, ±1} or {0, ±1, ±2}. They are obtained from the target filter coefficients using mixed radix number representation. Fairly high coefficient precision can be achieved
