Abstract :
The development of object systems can be improved through the use of tools which assist in the complete development cycle, from development process definition to software production. We propose a reference model and a workbench for UML-based development processes founded on the decoupling of dynamic (workflow) and static (work contexts) aspects of a process and developed in the French RNRT PILOTE project. The workbench is based on a flexible architecture, which integrates tools specialized in each aspect and which should allow the replacement of any element in the tool-suite
