Abstract :
Based on the atmospheric scattering model, a kind of new method was proposed to recover the visibility of a single color image obtained under fogged weather. Firstly, to infer the atmospheric veil from the fogged image, the coarser estimate was refined by improved mean shift filtering. And then, the scene transmission information was recovered by inverting the atmospheric scattering model. Experimental results have shown the validity and effectiveness of the proposed method in terms of visual effects on outdoor fogged images.
