Abstract :
IEEE 1394b is a high performance serial bus which is used in constructing local area networks. It consists of two data transfer modes, isochronous data transfer and asynchronous data transfer. Deterministic and stochastic Petri net models of isochronous data transfer and asynchronous data transfer are developed. The bus performances are numerical studied through simulation. The relations between bus load and bus performances are obtained.
