Abstract
An infinite impulse response (IIR)-type adaptive equalizer using a channel estimation is proposed. It has a cascade structure of an autoregressive (AR) prefilter and a finite impulse response (FIR) adaptive equalizer. The AR prefilter is designed using the channel impulse response estimated by the channel estimator. AR prefiltering leads to reduction in a degree of correlation of the channel output. The least-mean-square (LMS) algorithm of the cascaded FIR adaptive equalizer provides fast convergence and small residual error. Simulation results are shown to confirm the performance of the proposed adaptive equalizer
