  • Abstract
An optimal windowed recursive least squares algorithm is proposed for fading channel estimation. The basic idea is to optimize the window shape of an arbitrary windowed recursive least squares algorithm according to statistical knowledge of a fading channel. Significant improvement on estimation quality over the exponential windowed recursive least squares (EW-RLS) algorithm is illustrated with a fading channel based on Jakes´ model. Simulation is performed to confirm the theory
