Abstract :
In modern conditions high quality of a life can be provided only under condition of natural systems preservation and quality of environmentmaintenance. Maintenance of harmonious economic social-natural interaction is offered by the sustainable development concept. A basis of transition to a new trajectory of development is change of public institutes. One of such institutes of functioning of a society is the institute of human settlements, the dominating formof which became the city in an industrial society. For maintenance of sustainability and increase of ecological compatibility of the organisation of vital space of people it is necessary to transform modern settlements in ecopolises, combining innovative technologies of closed-cycles, social justice rules, effective nature management.
