Abstract :
An automated technical information production system (ATIPS) is needed to support the development of paperless digital technical publications for an embedded delivery system on a line of automated test equipment. The delivery requirement of these publications called for compliance with the computer-aided acquisition and logistics support (CALS) initiative. The requirements, specification, procurement and implementation of this system are discussed, its configuration is illustrated, and the application and accomplishments are described. It is concluded that the ATIPS is proving to be a cost-effective addition to the Huntsville Center Operations automated tools inventory. The hardware, software, and techniques are increasing productivity dramatically for GE and providing better, less-costly, less bulky documentation to the US DoD
