Abstract
Process planning is rather complicated because it´s a multi-level decision-making procedure, which is affected by many factors. Within the manufacturing process, it is difficult for a single-routing plan to be adopted to cope with thorny problems such as varied bottlenecks of productive capacity. A new type of process planning system called the multi-routings integrated process planning and management system (SIPM) is presented, which can generate multiple alternative routings. The approach for optimizing these alternative routings is also described. The paper focuses on the concept and representation of multi-routings and the analysis and calculation of a manufacturing costs model and the optimization strategy minimizing manufacturing costs subject to manufacturing cycle
