Abstract
Because of its pursuit for a green GDP, low-carbon economy and a new energy solution to the energy crisis during the recent years, the Chinese government has been increasing support to the development of methane projects, resulting in rapid growth of the sector. However, the development of methane services has been lagging far behind, restricting the utilization of methane projects. This study provides a comprehensive view about existing methane service models in rural areas, identifies rural methane service levels and offers constructive opinions for the promotion of enhanced service models.
