Abstract :
An efficient technique for representing a grey-scale image with a collection of connected triangular planar patches is investigated. The patches are planar in the three-dimensional space described by the plane of the image and using the intensity as the third dimension. In this way, the image can be thought of geometrically as a surface. The patches are fitted to this surface by application of the local adjustment technique
