  • Abstract
A fast adaptive algorithm is developed for training optimal weighted order statistic (WOS) filters under the mean absolute error (MAE) criterion. This algorithm is implemented without use of threshold decomposition and can be applied to arbitrary real-valued signals directly. It can easily be extended to finite impulse response (FIR)-WOS hybrid filters. An interesting application of adaptive WOS and FIR WOS hybrid filters is presented
