Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to identify the cleaner production implementation of a manufacturing firm to select the competitive priority in environmental uncertainty. The research methodology employed was fuzzy analytic hierarchy process. It proved to be an efficient tool in handling the fuzziness of the data involved in deciding the preferences of different criteria in order to select the alternatives. Each comparison is converted in the form of triangular fuzzy numbers to construct fuzzy pairwise comparison matrices. The different decision criteria involved in the prioritization of the alternatives in the case firm was discussed in relation to available literature and experts´ opinions. The proposed model, from literature, can provide a framework for the organization to prioritize the competitive priority in cleaner production implementation. The research finding shows that the study firm should choose flexibility as major competitive priority under environmental uncertainty.
