Abstract
A semi-algorithmic current mode digital-to-analog converter is presented. Its active chip area increases linearly rather than exponentially with increasing resolution. A 10-bit converter implemented in 1.2-μm CMOS technology occupies an area of 0.05 mm2, and has a settling time of less than 160 ns. The circuit offers low cost video digital-to-analog conversion
