  • Abstract
    A design technique for a ladder-based transconductor-capacitor (transconductor-C) lowpass video filter and equalizer is presented. The software package for a general transconductor-C filter and equalizer design is described. A fifth-order elliptic lowpass filter and a sixth-order group delay equalizer are designed. It is shown that the order of the equalizer can be reduced by the application of special techniques for the approximation of the filter transfer function. The comparison of sensitivity between a cascade of biquadratic stages and the ladder-based realization is given. Lower sensitivities to component tolerance for both filter and equalizer are displayed by the ladder-based design. The fifth-order amplitude and sixth-order group delay equalizer are incorporated in a layout for fabrication
