Abstract :
Multi-tooth fault tolerant flux-switching permanent magnet (FSPM) motor is a novel fault tolerant motor having magnet in the stator, which has the advantages such as excellent physical, mechanical and magnet insulation abilities and big self-inductance. Furthermore, it also overcomes the disadvantages like magnet bears centrifugal force and difficult to dispel heat that exist in conventional rotor-PM topology. However, the air-gap field of this motor is difficult to regulate due to that it is generated by the stator magnets alone. Hence, this paper proposes a novel hybrid excitation multi-tooth fault tolerant flux-switching permanent magnet (FSPM) motor, which can easily regulate the air-gap field while it also keeps the modularity and fault tolerance of motor and good sinusoidal of stator flux-leakage and back-EMF.
