Abstract :
Network diameter and node degree are the key parameters of network topology. Network topologies are classified into two classes by node degree. Nodes in one class have the same node degree, while node degrees in the other class are different. In a simplified BGP route model, different topology classes have their own characteristic of route update exchanging process. Based on the characteristics, we put forward new MRAI (Minimum Route Advertisement Interval) setup methods to enhance BGP route convergence. Through simulation under SSFNet software, the validation of proposed MRAI setup methods is achieved.
