Abstract :
The neutral non-grounding mode with unshielding is adopted for Chinese medium voltage distribution network, which increase the difficulty to analyze and calculate the lightning protection performance using the classical prescriptive method. In this paper, the ATP-EMTP program is applied to simulate and analyze the lightning back-flashover performance of a medium voltage distribution network with two typical towers. Then it puts forward the measures to upgrade the lightning back-flashover protection level of medium voltage distribution network.
