Abstract :
High resolution, high-speed analog-digital (A/D) converters are used in instrumentation and imaging applications. Oversampled A/D converters are alternative to the traditional Nyquist rate converters. It is possible to achieve a higher resolution than with Nyquist rate converters at comparable circuit complexities. The design issues of a 7th-order two-stage pipelined oversampled A/D converter are discussed. Simulation results show a resolution greater than 16 bits at a throughput rate of 1.5 Msample/s. This design is implemented using a 1-μm CMOS process
